connection to your life

This book connects to my life because i like to be out doors like camping having fires and fish witch is what is kinda happening in the book. I like the way the book connects to my life bcause it is some of the things i love to do out in the woods.in the book when he is trying to start a fire connects really good to my life because i like to have fires at my house and i tried to start one by hit 2 rocks together to spark the gas and it didn't work out as planed so i just light it with a lighter.

  1. Sometimes it really helps your understanding when you like to do the same things the book is about...it makes it really easy to relate to your life because you have had many of those experiences!

I can hardly start a fire outdoors with matches, kindling, etc...so you're one step beyond me!

  4. Jordan, it's great to hear that you are able to connect with the book Hatchet. I remember starting to read it when I was younger, and it was hard for me to relate to. Hearing your opinion of it and the connections you've made to your own life make it intriguing and more meaningful.

Have you found other books this year that you can relate to? Would you recommend Hatchet to other 8th graders to read? Why/why not?
